You can make ordering and collecting your prescriptions much easier without having to visit the surgery.

• You can register to order your prescription on line - see the "Order Online" page.

• You can organise your prefered pharmacy to collect your prescription and it will be ready for your collection.

         or

• You may be eligible to have your prescription delivered. Please contact your pharmacy for details.

Repeat Prescriptions

We operate a two ‘working day’ repeat prescription service. Working days being Monday to Friday (Bank Holidays excluded).   

Requests must be made either:

• using the tear-off slip from your previous prescription
• in writing
• via EMIS Access online ordering

Any requests for items that are not on your repeat prescription are passed to the doctors so please be aware that it is possible they may take a little longer or even be refused altogether.

In order to ensure patient security and accuracy of the items needed requests will not be accepted via:

• telephone
• e-mail
• fax 

Please ensure that you pick up your prescriptions from the site at which you requested it.

Medication Reviews

It is very important that you attend for Medication Reviews when requested to do so, or to undertake the tests or reviews requested by the doctor indicated on the Review Slip, which may be stapled to your prescription.

The doctor may want to see you to review your medication before issuing another prescription. 

Ordering Prescriptions Online

You are now also able to order Repeat Prescriptions online using the EMIS Access site.

• You are only able to request Repeat Medication items using this system
• We still require two working days to process requests.
• Non-Repeat items need to be requested in writing in the normal way.
• They MUST be collected from the Bradeley site, unless you have nominated a collecting chemist.
  

It is your responsibility to check that items requested online have been actioned or rejected. Reasons for rejections will be given.

The Practice has the right to refuse registration or cancel registration to the EMIS Access site.

As well as collecting your prescription from the surgery, there are two other options that you may find more convenient.

Pharmacy Collection and Delivery

You can nominate a pharmacy of your choice to drop off your prescription request at the surgery and collect the completed prescription. It will then be at that pharmacy for collection, or they may be able to deliver it, e.g. in the case of housebound patients.

Arrangements for collection and delivery by any pharmacy must be made with that pharmacy, not the Practice. We will require a copy of the signed declaration between yourself and the pharmacist confirming this arrangement.

By Post

Completed prescriptions can be posted to you if you send a stamped self-addressed envelope with your request. Please allow postal time on top of the two working days needed to process your request.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
